A portion of 1179 in Brazos County is back open after a power line fire forced it to shut down Monday night.

It was around 7:30 when the fire began, the line burning for about an hour.

Officials say that the fire was burning on the inside of the pole and they had to work fast to put it out before the ambers spread and caught something else on fire.

Volunteers from Precinct 3 fire department in Brazos County responded to the blaze.
