All power has been restored as of 6:46. Customers affected throughout the duration were without power for 2 hours.

Both BTU and CSU experienced equipment failures (fires) that led to the outages.

Power was re-routed onto other feeders, and the repairs are ongoing, but again, all power has been restored.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Power has been restored to all but one of CSU’s feeders and we are working to get that one back on. The feeder that is still out affects part of Pebble Creek and Stone Forest subdivision.

There were approximately 3,000 customer without power at the peak of the outage. All but about 600 have been restored.

Will update when all power is restored.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CSU is asking that all customers without power turn off everything they can so that when we start trying to bring customers back online there is not such a heavy load on the system. It would help if customers would switch their air conditioners to the off position, and just leave one light switched on so that they know when their power has been restored.

This outage is affecting HEB, Lowe’s, Scott & White, as well as residential customers.

The latest information into our newsroom is that there is a down transmission line that feeds the Greens Prairie substation.
Currently there is no power being distributed from that substation, so several College Station Utilities customers are without power in the southern end of the city.
There is still no word on how long the power could be out.

There are also reports coming into our newsroom that the downed line has sparked a grass fire near the area of William D Fitch and Arrington Road. We do know that crews are currently in the field trying to fix the problem.
We will have further information as it becomes available.
