Nearly 300 new jobs will be created if a steel pipe and tube manufacturer decides to build in north Bryan.
The city released more information Tuesday on the project.
It would be the largest manufacturer in Bryan.
An announcement is expected later this week.
News 3 has learned an agreement with Kuadrum Pipe and Tube is nearly finalized.
183 acres of land at Bryan's Texas Triangle Park could soon be the site of the biggest manufacturer in Brazos County.
Kuadrum Pipe and Tube Incorporated is in negotiations to set up a $120 million metal pipe and tube manufacturing facility near Highway 6 and F-M 2818 in far north Bryan.
Bryan City Council Member Chuck Konderla says a deal is still pending.
"It'll be one of the biggest impacts, economic development impacts in our city's history as far as light steel, light production, light industry go," said Konderla.
City officials says the company will be filling manufacturing and management jobs, but so far no specifics.
At a minimum there would be 285 jobs according to agenda documents.
A Tuesday night discussion on approving a ten year non-annexation agreement for the property has been postponed as a final deal is being reached.
"But the non-annexation agreement does provide for ten years non-annexation, however in year four half of the property tax that would have been collected starts to be collected and it progresses from there forward," Konderla explained.
Kuadrum Pipe and Tube is an international company with a location in Texas already.
With Triangle Park they'll have quick access to Highway 6 and rail access to the Port of Houston and points across the state.
"It's being what it should be, a central hub for Central Texas," said Chuck Konderla.
The Bryan City Council will call a special meeting Friday if final details are arranged by then and an official announcement will likely follow.
Under the terms of the agreement, Kuadrum Pipe and Tube would have an annual payroll of at least $10,545,000 at the proposed facility in Bryan.
