COLLEGE STATION- The sound of dryers echo in the hallways of the Blocker building on the north side of Texas A&M University's campus. Soaking rains have seeped their way into ground level classrooms.
"It looks like a mini Schlitterbahn," said Texas A&M University student Elyssa Kirkman. "There are tubes everywhere."
Kirkman has classes in the building and said she's never seen anything like it before.
"It's pretty bad," she said.
The rain damage inside of the building is so bad that some of the classes have even been canceled. "This will be my second day without class in there this week," Kirkman said.
The rain is a welcome site, but students said this isn't the first time Blocker has been hit hard.
"Every time there is a big storm this happens," said Vennessa Jreij,an A&M senior. She said it's affecting their studies.
A spokesperson for A&M said that some of the classes on the ground level were moved to higher floors, and that cancelled classes on the ground level will resume on Friday. But even that doesn't sit well with some students.
"What are we going to do if it rains again? I mean we have to have class." Jreij said.
The senior said almost everyone has classes in Blocker. "It's in bad condition and it smells horrible inside. It's bad for your health to breathe in the mold," said Jreij.
Dust from the cleanup even set the fire alarm off, delaying classes yet again. Jreij wants something done so this doesn't happen every time it rains.
"It's frustrating because this building needs to be redone and they are focusing on other stuff," Jreij said.
