It goes bump in the night, and the day, too.
It's a frequent fix in the Twin Cities with crews repairing potholes pretty much every day if the weather is nice.
Michael Dembicki is a junior at Texas A&M and on this day the pothole patrol in College Station came his way to Medina Drive.
"No I mean honestly they got it repaired pretty quick I left this morning and came back and they had it done in a couple hours so no real disturbance or anything. They pretty much took care of it," said Dembicki.
The recent rains have been a godsend for grass and other greenery but not so much for the blacktop.
"Well for, for pavements water is really our worst enemy it can really if we don't have a probably sealed pavement that water can eventually... create a little sinkhole like a pothole," said Dale Picha, the Director of Traffic and Transportation for Bryan.
Picha says crews can do up to 30 or 40 pothole patches a day. Many of them take only about 20 minutes or so including here at the Bryan Recycling Center on Briarcrest Drive.
College Station residents are encouraged to report pothole problems at SeeClickFix.com while Bryan residents can dial (979) 209-5900.
"We've seen a little bit of rise in requests over the last month and a half probably since early February when we started seeing a little more rain in the area," Picha said.
"It happened really quickly they took care of it really fast," commented Michael Dembicki.
A quick process hopefully giving you smoother driving.
Last fiscal year the City of Bryan repaired 218 potholes.
They've so far had 78 requests for February and March.
