Beginning Monday, March 5, registration will open for many of Bryan Parks & Recreation’s Spring activities. Participants can register for the following activities:
Spring Swim Lessons
Bryan Aquatics offers swim lessons for ages 3 - adult. Each session meets Monday through Friday for 2 weeks. Session 1 runs from April 9 through April 20, and Session 2 runs from April 23 through May 4. The lessons take place at the Bryan Aquatic Center, and cost $35 for Bryan residents and $45 for non-residents. Download the registration form here.
Boys and girls ages 4-18 make up the City of Bryan Parks and Recreation’s recreational summer swim team. The Barracudas compete against swim teams from College Station, Huntsville, Brenham, Navasota, and Lee County. The cost to join the team is $95, and discounts are available for families with more than one child participating. Spring practice meets Monday through Friday, beginning April 16 and going through May 27. Swimmers practice in one of two sessions each day, either 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. For more information visit www.BryanBarracudas.com Download the registration form here.
Fine tune your swimming stroke in this week-long stroke clinic at the Bryan Aquatic Center. This class is open to 5-18 year olds, and costs $20 per swimmer. The class runs from April 9 through April 13, and meets at two different times, either 5:30 p.m. through 6:45 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. through 8:00 p.m.
This program is a developmentally appropriate introductory tennis program for children ages 5-7. The program prepares children for organized tennis in a fun, non-threatening environment without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age appropriate equipment from Head® and Penn® is used in teaching ground strokes, serving, volleying and running/agility. The program meets on Monday nights at 6:15 p.m. beginning March 19 and ending April 23. The cost is $35 for Bryan residents and $45 for non-residents. Download the registration form here.
This program is a developmentally appropriate introductory soccer program for children 3-5 years old. Pee Wee soccer teaches children the fundamental skills of soccer to prepare them for competitive play. The program has two different sessions, and meets on either Tuesday or Thursday nights at 6:15 p.m. at the Bryan Regional Athletic Complex. Session 1 runs from April 10 through May 15, and Session 2 runs from April 12 through May 17. The cost is $35 for Bryan residents and $45 for non-residents. Download the registration form here.
Camp under the stars on Saturday, April 21 at Austin’s Colony Park. Enjoy hot dogs, s’mores, games, crafts, campfire stories, and the movie Yogi Bear. During early registration (March 5 – April 20) the cost to attend Family Campout is $5 for kids and $7 for adults. Download the registration form here.
