The tweet heard 'round the sports world from Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel was reportedly because of a parking ticket.
San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle reporter Brent Zwerneman quotes a source within the athletic department who says the Heisman Trophy winner was out of town with friends when he received a call from College Station Police, who told him his vehicle was parked on the wrong side of the street and had too much tint on his windows.
As a result, Manziel reportedly vented his frustrations through his Twitter account early Sunday morning, briefly telling his followers that he "can't wait to leave college station...whenever it may be."
The tweet was soon deleted, and Manziel followed it up with another note saying he loved A&M, but "please please walk a day in my shoes."
The star's tweet was reported by the Deadspin website, ESPN, and other major media outlets.
Manziel can enter the National Football League Draft after this coming college football season, and has been the subject of speculation when it comes to his future at A&M, even prior to this much-analyzed tweet.
