Dozens of people braved the hot weather to come to celebrate Juneteenth.
In Hearne, the recently named Martin Luther King Street was the site of a parade. That street used to be Brazos Street off Highway 79.
Families enjoyed free food, drinks, games and water slides.
Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States.
