College Station Police blocked off roads in a local subdivision while investigating a possible bomb threat.

Investigators say they got a call from residents on the 4200 block of Alexandria Drive in the Shenandoah subdivision in south College Station around 7 p.m.

The residents said they found something that appeared to be an explosive device on the street in front of a home.

Police blocked off part of Decatur and Alexandra Drive and residents in the area were asked to stay in their homes during the investigation.

After about an hour, police cleared the scene and said the suspicious device turned out to be unused firecrackers.
