SEC Network Announcement Next Week

The Southeastern Conference will soon have a much-anticipated television network, according to reports.

Sports Business Daily reported Friday that the SEC and ESPN will announce an SEC channel on Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. CT., along with its expected launch in August 2014.

The announcement will take place in Atlanta and include university presidents and athletic directors.

The network would be based in Charlotte, according to Sports Business Daily.

The SEC would follow in the footsteps of the Big Ten and the Pac-12 conferences, which have launched networks of their own to showcase a variety of sports at member schools, including with live events and highlights shows.

Texas A&M is nearing the end of its first season in the SEC.
