Sam Houston Statue Visitor Center Offering Spring Break Giveaways

The Sam Houston Statue Visitor Center will be offering activities and free giveaway items during Spring Break week to assist in the promotion of the “Millionth Person Campaign.”

According to Kimm Thomas, Director of Tourism and Cultural Services, there are approximately 1,000 visitors each day during Spring Break at the Sam Houston Statue making it an especially busy time. The goal of providing the additional activities is to create excitement for the millionth visitor campaign and make visiting the Statue an anticipated spring tradition.

“This is our first time to offer special activities during Spring Break, and we think the extra features are going to be enjoyed by visitors of all ages,” Thomas said. “From games to free food to special prizes for children, we think these finishing touches will make Spring Break at the Statue a valued stop for both local residents and families passing through.”

On Monday, March 11, there will be board games offered on the porch of the Statue Visitor Center. Tuesday will bring free balloons for each visiting child, and on Wednesday, the first 1,000 visitors will receive a free mini ice cream sandwich donated by Blue Bell Creamery.
On Thursday, visitors will enjoy free popcorn from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the week of giveaways will conclude Friday, March 15, with a special Plinko game from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
