CEO Scott & White Healthcare Reacts to New Healthcare System

Scott & White Healthcare system announced today they will be merging with Baylor Health Care System.

The new system will be called Baylor Scott and White Health. Its combined assets will total nearly $8 billion and include 42 hospitals, 4,000 active doctors and 34,000 employees. The newly merged organization will be the state's largest not-for-profit health system in the state and one of the largest in the nation.

"When you put Baylor and Scott & White together, we are prepared to meet the healthcare needs of our community of which we serve for many years to come," said Jason Jennings, CEO Scott & White Healthcare College Station Region.

Meanwhile, the new Scott & White Hospital ion Highway 6 is on schedule to open in August.
