HUNTSVILLE - A man accused of shaking his two-month-old daughter and causing her serious injury faces felony charges in Walker County.
A grand jury indicted Brent Davison of Huntsville last week on a charge of injury to a child, a first degree felony, stemming from an April incident.
Police say Davison claimed he was trying to make his daughter stop crying during the incident on Elks Drive. The child had to be taken to a Houston hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Walker County District Attorney David Weeks said the child had been blinded and brain damaged, but is expected to live.
The wait on charges being brought was, in part, because authorities were waiting to see if the child would pull through, according to Weeks.
Bond for the 23-year-old was set at $500,000.
