Sheriff’s Office Recovers Stolen Property

Milam County Sheriff’s Investigator Chad Marek and Deputies recovered two four-wheelers and a travel trailer from a property off of County Road 322 and 328 this weekend. Deputy Woodward and Deputy Mendoza were notified by a property owner off of County Road 328 that he had located a four-wheeler hidden on his property. After checking the four-wheeler, it was learned that the unit had been reported stolen from a place off of County Road 330. Later information was obtained that led Investigator Marek to check a travel trailer located in the 9000 block of County Road 322 which was confirmed stolen approximately a year ago from Louisiana.

Further information and evidence led Investigator Marek to believe that Curtis Huddleston, a 36 year old Milano resident, is responsible for the thefts and warrants are pending charging him with two counts of felony theft.

A second four-wheeler was recovered from the property off of County Road 328, which the property owner located the next day hidden in a separate area from the first recovery. Investigators are still trying to locate an owner for this unit. The identification numbers did not indicate that it was stolen; however the numbers are being checked to find the original owner in order to back-track where it may have come from.

Curtis Huddleston is currently in the Milam County Jail being held on charges for aggravated assault and felony evading arrest, which stemmed from an incident during the last weekend of March.
