What authorities described as a murder and attempted suicide Wednesday at a rural home in Milam County left a woman dead and a man injured.

The Milam County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Lindsay Ferrill, 28, of Katy and Justin Patronella, 25, of Houston.

Ferrill was dead at the scene, authorities said.

Patronella was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan with what the sheriff’s office said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Information about his condition was not immediately available.

Deputies found Ferrill’s 3-year-old daughter unharmed inside the residence.

“All the evidence at the scene indicated that this was a murder- attempted suicide. Although the investigation remains open, all involved persons are accounted for,” said Milam County Sheriff David Greene

The shooting occurred at a residence in the 100 block of County Road 346 east of Milano.
