UPDATE:
A pilot is able to walk away from his small plane after making a crash landing west of the Brazos River in Burleson County.
The pilot reportedly set the plane down in a field around 11 a.m Wednesday and walked away with minor injuries to his leg.
The plane was being used as part of a two day research study being conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
"I've never seen an airplane go down before, and I've worked aircraft quite a bit in this context. The winds had shift around a little bit so I only heard some of the gasps and then saw the last part where the pilot tried to regain control of the aircraft but was unable to," said Dan Martin with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The plane is based out of Georgia and the pilot is said to have several years of experience.
