A 19-year-old is in jail, charged with murder, after authorities say he shot three men, killing one of them. Now, neighbors who saw the alleged murder happen say they are scared and want justice.
Letisha McKee saw 19-year-old Broderick Grba pull a gun and shoot at 33-year-old Antwan Heslip Sunday morning. She ran inside her apartment for her kids, telling 31-year-old Marcus Carroll to run.
Carroll didn't get very far. He was found dead a short distance away, behind some apartments in a backyard.
Authorities arrested Grba in connection with the shooting and charged him with murder. He's being held at the Burleson County Jail under $1 million bond.
"I'm scared. I've been scared," said Mckee. The shooting happened right in front of her apartment.
"I want justice and I want everybody punished. I want them punished," said McKee. She says she doesn't feel safe.
When asked what she could do to feel safe, McKee said, " Get away from here, I guess."
In the small community of Snook, the shooting has a far reach. Snook ISD brought in a counselor for students and asked a Constable to be on campus all day.
"Apparently some of our kids were related to some of those that were involved and, knowing that they may have some issues to deal with today, we thought we'd just take those extra precautions," explained Snook ISD Superintendent Larry Williams.
Residents here in this small community are say they are trying to get back a sense of normalcy after a violent Sunday morning. Bryan resident Antwan Heslip, who was wounded in the shooting, is in critical condition at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.
