Hundreds of people around the Brazos Valley are stepping up to the plate for a great cause.

Stanley Johnson, the former manager of Harvey Little League, passed away from cancer in May. Friends of the family put together a softball tournament to help pay for overwhelming medical costs.

Twenty-five softball and baseball teams are competing in the tournament. Organizers estimate the event will bring in between $45,000 to $50,000 to the family.
