A Somerville man is killed Thursday afternoon in a single vehicle accident in Burleson County.

The Department of Public Safety says it happened around 1:30 p.m. near Lyons.

Edwin Moravec, 84, was traveling south on Highway 36 when he lost control of his vehicle. He swerved off the road and hit a cement wall storm drain.

DPS believes weather played a factor in the crash, since the roads were wet at the time.

Moravec was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Caldwell where he died.

He was wearing a seat belt.
