Firefighters with the South Brazos County Fire Department opened the doors of Station One for a fundraiser Saturday. Many people stopped by to purchase barbecue and crawfish plates.
The South Brazos County Fire Department is run solely by volunteers who respond to medical calls, vehicle accidents and fire calls in an area that's more than one hundred square miles. Money raised Saturday will go toward daily operating costs.
The event was success as they sold 250 pounds of crawfish and 25 briskets for a profit of $8,100.
