It wasn't midnight, but actually a special Yell Practice at Kyle Field as the Aggie Football Team heads east to take on Alabama.
Several players and Head Coach Kevin Sumlin addressed the crowd.
News 3 saw the excitement building for the team's biggest game of the year.
Football fever is growing in Aggieland as we count down to the weekend and the number 15 Ags taking on number one Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
"Let's have a Fighting Texas Aggie Yell Practice!," yelled Nelson Ingram, Head Yell Leader.
Yell Leaders wanted their team to know the 12th Man is ready.
"So we just thought we'd get all that spirit out on Kyle Field so they get sent off the right way," Nelson Ingram said.
"We're gonna beat the hell out of 'em and win out the season," said Hunter Skoog, a Senior Yell Leader.
"The team never gets to come to midnight yell because it's midnight before a football game and so this is big for them," said Drew Nelson, a Senior Yell Leader.
Thousand swayed and yelled as the day ended with some special words from head coach Kevin Sumlin and players.
"Howdy! Appreciate y'all coming out. You don't know what it means to us game time," Sumlin said.
"Howdy! We wanted to just tell y'all how much we appreciate y'all coming out to support us and everything," said Sean Porter, a Texas A&M Football Linebacker.
Maroon and white fans are fired up and the stakes are really high this year too. Aggie fans are hoping to upset last year's BCS National Champions.
A&M Students Raleigh Brewer and his girlfriend Camille Osterhold can't wait to see Johnny Football.
"We've had a great season so far and we gotta hand it to Johnny Manziel and our new receivers for keeping it up every game, pulling out some really great plays," said Brewer a member of the Texas Aggie Band.
The Spirit of Aggieland is ready to go.
If you are headed to the game, Yell Leaders are hosting a special away game Midnight Yell Practice Friday night at the Chuy's restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama.
It's located at:
216 Summit Blvd.
Birmingham, Alabama 35243
