Splendora Superintendent Injured In Suspected Arson Fire

SPLENDORA, TX The Superintendent of Splendora ISD was hospitalized Sunday after Montgomery County Investigators say someone set the home on fire.

The Montgomery County Police Reporter says Splendora Superintendent Dr. Genese Bell had burns on her head and feet and was taken to Kingwood Hospital in stable condition.

Her husband David Bell, who is an Assistant Principal at Shepherd Middle School, was not hurt.

Their 13-year-old daughter suffered a minor burn.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal Jimmy Williams says the fire started around 1 A.M. Sunday morning on Oak Lawn Drive.

The fire was quickly brought under control and it was determined the fire was intentionally set.

The fire caused significant damage to the daughter's bedroom but the Montgomery County Police Reporter says minimal damage was done to the structure.

A teenage suspect has been identified and charges are pending with the Montgomery County Juvenile Prosecutor.
