State Lawmakers Get Ready For Legislative Session

As most of us are wrapping up our year, Texas Lawmakers are getting ready for the 83rd legislative session that begins in January.

A new report shows that fewer bills are being pre-filed than in previous years. Documents obtained by the Texas Tribune show that of the more-than-330 bills pre-filed in the Texas House & Senate, the biggest portion concern matters of Education.

Other high traffic issues include crime and taxation laws.

The legislative session is scheduled to begin in Austin on January 8th.
