An A&M student studying at the library was assaulted and cell phone stolen.
At about 4:45 Thursday afternoon, police say the victim was studying at a table on the fourth floor of the Sterling C. Evans Library. The suspect approached him from behind, hitting him several times with his fist knocking the victim to the floor.
The suspect grabbed the victim’s cellular telephone and started to run. The victim chased him down but was hit and knocked to the ground again. The suspect then fled the area in an unknown direction.
The suspect was described as a white male, college age, approximately 6’1". skinny build, short dark hair, wearing a white t-shirt with black logo, dark cargo shorts and dark shoes.
