Police are looking for a suspect who attempted to steal a tip jar from a bar in the Northgate District early Saturday morning.

At 2:14 a.m. Saturday, Police were called to 329 University Drive, Basil Whippet's Bar, where they discovered an employee had a large cut on his bicep. Police said the employee sustained the injury when two men attempted to steal the tip jar from the upstairs bar. Another employee stopped the suspect with the tip jar. A fight ensued and the jar broke against the wall. The suspect then fled on foot; heading west along University Drive. The suspect is still on the loose and police ask that you report any information or sightings of this man. The suspect is described as a white male, 6'0" tall with a medium build. He has dark brown hair and was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue pants.

The employee at the upstairs bar was taken to College Station Medical Center, where he was treated and released for his injury.
