Milam County authorities have arrested a tenth person for his involvement in a cockfighting ring that was broken up on January sixth.
20-year-old Bradley Byrd was arrested today and booked into the county jail. For his role, the Gause man has been charged with participating and receiving earnings from a cockfight. If convicted of the felony charge, Byrd could receive up to two years in a state prison.
With two warrants still outstanding, other arrests are expected in the days to come. At the time the illegal gaming operation was broken up, deputies rounded up 35 spectators, issued 28 citations, towed seven vehicles and seized 43 animals.
