The Texas A&M System Board of Regents signed off on the renovation of two historic buildings on the College Station campus Thursday.

Regents approved $11.37 million dollars to renovate and upgrade the 81-year-old Jack K. Williams Administration building at the main entrance to Texas A&M. When the work is completed in October of next year, the office of the university president will be re-located there. The Board also approved nearly $10.6 million for the renovation of Scoates Hall, which is a classroom building where thousands of Aggies have attended classes over the last eight decades.

In addition, $15.45 million will go toward the third phase of a 12-year-plan to renovate the twelve Corps of Cadets dormitories.

The regents also authorized Texas A&M University President R. Bowen Loftin to negotiate and execute new employment contracts with Aggie head football coach Kevin Sumlin and his assistant coaches. More on that can be found by clicking on the link to our Sports article below.
