The Mushroom festival took over downtown Madisonville.

Dozens of vendors were out as crowds of people walked around enjoying the festival. Some of the activities included an Auto Showcase, Chef demonstrations, a 5K Run/ Walk and a Photography contest.

In front of the Court House a live band entertained as the audience jammed out to Soul music.

People waited in lines as volunteers served up free mushroom fajitas. Mushrooms are of course the specialty of the day.

We spoke with one local resident who says he comes out every year.

" I enjoy the people, its got great food, a lot of things you can buy differently. I love the mushrooms, I like the grape festival down there where you can go stomping, I just cant do it because I got bad feet so it's just an awesome sight to see," said Ron Mann.

This year Madisonville is celebrating it's 100th birthday.
