Texas A&M Football ticket sales have been hot, and today the Aggie Athletics Department announced it has sold out of season tickets for the first time ever.

The Aggies are ranked in the top 10 pre-season polls.

Today, students were turned away for the first time in history because now student season tickets are sold out. It's a disappointment to some Aggies, but the reason for the sell-out is obvious to them.

"It should be a killer season. I think that's probably why because we haven't done this well for a long time, so I think everyone wanted to go to every single football game. We always have a lot of fans even when we're not doing really good, obviously we sold out,” said sophomores Stephanie Musgrove and Kristin Shelton.

Kyle Field has the largest percentage of student seats within a collegiate stadium in the country. This season, the university raised the allotment for student tickets up an additional 1,500 tickets from the total issued last year.

"We increased our student's numbers this year anticipating that we are going to have a really good football team. We increased them and they still couldn't meet demand. You know what's happening, we have a few areas, a few individual seats. Students are buying those at full price now,” said Bill Byrne, the Texas A&M Athletic Director.

Not only are student season tickets sold out, but season tickets in general have been sold out for the first time ever as well.

"I am really so thrilled with the support the Aggies have given us, the students, the 12th Man and former students and just fans in general. It's been a long time getting there, but we're there now,” Byrne said.

The only available seats remaining at Kyle Field are those tickets returned by the visiting schools from their allotment. When those tickets are returned, Texas A&M will direct these tickets to Aggie students on an individual game basis.
