COLLEGE STATION Police say a 20-year-old, caught stealing from a College Station home, admitted to several other burglaries in the area.

Investigators say around 7 a.m., they got calls of a suspicious person out on the 500 block of Guernsey Street in College Station. They found Devonte Deshay Shepard coming out of a house he just broke into. Police say he stole a cell phone case and woman’s wrist watch.

He was arrested for burglary, but later he confessed to being responsible for at least 8 other burglaries in the area known as the Southgate Neighborhood. He told police that he sells or gives away the items he steals.

Investigators say since January 1st, there have been 12 unsolved burglaries in that area, and they believe he might be responsible for more than the 8 he admitted to.
