At a luncheon and award ceremony by the Better Business Bureau, four Bryan-College Station businesses were given Torch Awards for their high standards in ethical behavior.
1.) Small Business: Aggieland Automotive-Bobby Miksch and Kirk Holland. A letter of reference pointed out " They provide quality customer service , a reasonable price; they are true to their word and stand behind their work.
2) (Tie) Medium Business: Readfield Meats & Deli and University Title
First time in the history of local awards , the judges agreed on a tie in the medium business category,
Readfield Meats-Richard,Larry & Roland Ruffino. A letter of reference from an out of town customer stated they are a Bryan, Texas legend and said the thing he missed about Bryan was their smoked sausage.
University Title Company: A letter of reference had this to say about the company: "They epitomize what is the best in our local business community"
3)Large Business: BMI Defense Systems-Beverly & Kyle Greenwood. A reference letter from a retired Marine General had this to say about the company." They maintain a standard of ethical excellence unmatched by any other company I know".
The awards ceremony was held Thursday at Pebble Creek Country Club in College Station. Hundreds of business people were in attendance.
