On Tuesday, August 21, 2012, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will shift traffic to the new eastbound constructed roadway in order to rehab the existing roadbed, which will become the new westbound lanes of SH 21 when the project is complete. Motorists who travel this area should expect temporary lane closures and delays through the day while the new lanes are being striped.
The 60mph speed limit for this construction project will remain until the project is complete. The project limits are from one mile West of FM 974 to 0.8 miles East of the Navasota River.
This $8-million-dollar widening project is contracted to Knife River Corporation South. This project began in July of 2011 and is expected to be complete by the Winter of 2012. TxDOT and their contractor thank everyone for their patience.
