Traffic Detoured Following 18-Wheeler Wreck In Robertson County

There has been an accident on SH 7 on the Navasota River Bridge involving two 18-wheelers in Robertson County. SH 7 is now closed in this area while emergency personnel work the accident.

Traffic on the Robertson County side of SH 7 is being detoured to FM 937 are being turned around on SH 7. Traffic on the Leon County side of SH 7 is detoured to US 79.

This accident occurred around Noon today. At this time we do not know when SH 7 will be reopened to traffic. TxDOT will keep you posted on any updates.

A collision between two 18-wheelers in northeast Robertson County has traffic being detoured.

The wreck happened Tuesday during the noon hour on Highway 7 at the Navasota River Bridge near the Robertson and Leon County line. Some motorists are being rerouted to FM 937 in Robertson County.

In addition to the accident between the big rigs, Robertson County Sheriff Gerald Yezak says a subsequent wreck between two other vehicles has also been reported. Yezak says Leon County EMS is on the scene along with deputies from his department and that all patients have refused treatment.

Road crews with the Texas Department of Transportation and troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety have been dispatched to the area. Yezak also says several area volunteer fire departments are at the scene and are currently assisting with traffic.
