Traffic Stop Leads To Marijuana Arrest

On 5/15/12 at approximately 8:00 p.m. a 55 year old North Richland Hills man was stopped for a traffic violation in Hearne, Upon speaking with the driver Officers detected the odor of Marijuana. Officers launched an investigation into the matter.

During the investigation, Officers received information that led to a search warrant being executed on a Hearne Area Motel Room. Officers recovered a sizeable quantity of Marijuana and Prescription Narcotics.

Kirk Lee Jaster was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group III < 28 Grams in a drug Free Zone and Two Counts of Possession of Marijuana in a Drug Free Zone.

Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group III is State Jail Felony, If Convicted Jaster could face up to two years in jail and $10,000 fine. Possession of Marijuana < 2 ounces in a Drug Free Zone is a Class A misdemeanor, If Convicted Jaster could face up to six months in jail and a $4,000 Fine.
