Two people are dead after being thrown from a pickup during a rollover accident.

DPS officers say the accident happened around 10:30 Friday evening on Nichols Sawmill Road in front of the Country Woods Subdivision.

Troopers say the driver of the truck, Brian Goetz, 20, of Magnolia, failed to negotiate a curve at a high speed. They believe he left the pavement to the right side of the road, over-corrected, and crossed the road again, flipping at least twice. The pickup then struck a fence and a large pine tree.

First responders from the Magnolia Fire Department arrived at the scene within four minutes to find three victims, but later found a fourth almost twelve feet into the woods.

Troopers say clothing from one of the victims was found almost twelve feet off of the ground in nearby trees.

Tabor Tory, 19, of Magnolia was being given CPR by bystanders when MCHD arrived. Crews called for Life Flight and continued to work on Tory until it was determined the CPR to be beyond life saving measures. Tory was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation shows Tory had been an unseatbelted rear seat passenger.

Audrey Trent, 19, of Magnolia was sitting in the center front seat and was seatbelted in. She was flown by Life Flight in stable condition.

Kevin Hanson, 20, of Magnolia, was sitting in the right front seat. Investigators say he was also not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Hanson was transported to Tomball Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigators believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash and charges could be pending for the driver at a later date.

The scene was cleared just after 4 a.m.
