A Katy woman is killed after losing control of her vehicle and colliding with a tractor trailer on Highway six early Thursday morning.
Troopers say the accident happened at 6:55 this morning when 20-year-old Chelsea Larsen was driving her toyota sedan northbound on Highway 6 in between hearne and Bryan when for unknown reasons she began veering off to the right side of the road.
As she tried to get back centered in her lane, it's believed she over-corrected and ended up traveling into the southbound lane in the path of a semi-truck carrying a tractor trailer.
The semi-truck broadsided Larson's passenger side of her vehicle. We're told she was wearing a seatbelt, however she was ejected and died upon impact.
The driver of the semi-tractor trailer had no injuries.
First responders are on scene of a fatal accident along Highway 6, two miles north of the Robertson-Brazos County line.
According to DPS Trooper Jimmy Morgan, the driver of a passenger vehicle headed north on six lost control of the vehicle. The driver reportedly over-corrected into the path of an 18-wheeler in the southbound lanes.
The driver of the passenger vehicle has died.
Traffic is slow in the area while crews work to clear the scene.
