Two Arrested For Prostitution In Brazos County, Reportedly Met Through Classifieds Website

Brazos County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a man and woman they say were having sex near a flea market on Highway 6 during a routine patrol.

They've both been charged with prostitution.

News 3 has learned the crime is moving from off street corners to online.

It's a crime of two consenting adults.

Tuesday night 37-year-old Paul Bohack of Navasota and 22-year-old Katie Green of Bryan were charged with prostitution after law enforcement reportedly caught them in the act in a vehicle at the Jockey Lot Flea Market off Highway 6.

"They couldn't come up with a good story that fit and then one thing led to another and they actually both of them admitted ultimately it was solicitation for prostitution," said Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk.

Kirk tells us it all started with a click of a mouse at a local classifieds website called .

Green reportedly posted an ad looking for companionship.

"It did have revealing photographs and a name and a phone number to call," Kirk added.

She told investigators she was pregnant and needed the $60 plus $15 for gas money.

It's a crime not often caught in College Station either.

Officer Rhonda Seaton tells us police don't really see solicitations on street corners, but instead see them start on corners of the internet.

Police typically find out about it through complaints.

"There's not as much on Craigslist anymore they've kind of cleaned that up," Seaton said.

It's a dangerous practice police say often leads to other crimes.

"You have drugs involved. You have instances where the customer ends up getting robbed or instances where the customer's information is stolen," added Seaton.

"Certainly this makes one very suspicious about the intent of what those classified ads actually are and in itself though it's not a crime," said Sheriff Kirk.

And while prostitution is a crime, making a case for conviction is challenging to prove.

Both Paul Bohack and Katie Green are out of the Brazos County Jail after posting bond Wednesday.
