BURLESON COUNTY - In an ongoing effort to improve safety and the surface conditions of our existing roadways, yesterday, the Texas Transportation Commission approved a construction job in Burleson County. This $5.8 million-dollar project was awarded to Big Creek Construction, LTD., to resurface the roadway of SH 21, from the east end of the Yeagua Creek Bridge to the west City Limits of Caldwell. This resurfacing project is approximately 10 miles long. This work is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2014 and take approximately one year to complete.
“As Texas roadways become increasingly crowded, we must find ways to relieve congestion without compromising safety,” said General Joe Webber, TxDOT executive director. “Keeping travelers moving safely and efficiently will continue to be an ongoing priority as Texas welcomes nearly 1,000 newcomers each day.”
“World class roads, rail, deep water ports and airways mean more jobs for Texas,” said Commissioner Jeff Moseley, Texas Transportation Commission. “We must fight for a mobility system that keeps up with the demands of our $1.4 trillion state economy.”
