Updated: Fri 5:48 PM, Sep 30, 2011

The best archers in the country are in College Station with the hopes of making it to the 2012 Olympics.

The USA Olympic Team Trials are being held on the Texas A&M campus at the Penberthy Rec Sports Complex and 150 hopefuls have already been narrowed down to 32 potential Olympians. Six archers will be making the trip to London for next year's summer Olympics.

Among the 16 female finalists is Aggie Jennifer Nichols who is hoping to attend her third straight Olympics.

Plus, age doesn't really matter when it comes to archery, candidates for the USA Archery Team range in age from 14 to 56.

"We've had great success with Texas A&M and with the surrounding community. Texas A&M has one of the biggest collegiate archery programs in the United States and they've generated Olympians like Vic Wunderle and Jennifer Nichols. World Champion team member Guy Krueger who's now an assistant head coach for the United States. So the Aggies have a long rich history of producing great archers," said Teresa Iaconi with USA Archery.

If you want to see some current and future Olympians, the team trials will conclude tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.

The event is free and open to the public.
