Twelve years ago, a Brenham man was convicted for attempted rape, and now has been sent back to prison.

33-year-old Sherman Jamail Porter failed to register as a sex offender starting in August two years ago.

Washington County Assistant District Attorney Lauren Havisher says Porter's residency bounced from various addresses in Houston and Bryan, and it was discovered he hadn't lived at any of them.

Porter has been sentenced to serve two years in the state prison system.
