WALKER COUNTY Walker County Sheriffs deputies say a grandmother and her young grandson were found dead in a home in an apparent double homicide Wednesday evening.
It happened just off of Highway 30 at M. Williams Road, which is about five miles west of Interstate 45 near Huntsville. Troopers tell us the victims' grandfather and husband came home to find the two dead, and called 911.
The victims are Shanta Faye Crawford, 55, and Aiyden Benjamin Lewis, 18 months.
Investigators say they're still combing over the scene as of Thursday morning and couldn't say in what manner the victims were found.
Family friends on scene say the woman was known as an active church member at a nearby congregation.
Investigators say that a suspect is not in custody, but failed to give any further details on if there is anyone of interest just yet.
The Texas Rangers, Walker County Sheriff's Office, Walker County D.A. and DPS are all investigating this case.
