An arrest warrant charging improper relationship between educator and student was issued Wednesday for former Salado ISD teacher Lisa Wagnon, 48, after a student told administrators at Salado High School he was having a sexual relationship with a teacher.

The Bell County Sheriff’s Office started an investigation after the student reported the relationship on Monday.

Salado School Superintendent Dr. Michael Novotny said Wagnon resigned Tuesday after working for the district for 12 years.

He said she taught at Salado Intermediate School, although the district’s Website lists her as a dyslexia specialist at Thomas Arnold Elementary School.

He said after learning of the allegation Monday he immediately called the sheriff’s office and Child Protective Services.

“Another student had actually reported it first then that's when we brought in the student that allegedly was involved,” Novotny said.

He said he’s not aware of any additional allegations.

“We are doing everything we can to cooperate with the authorities and to keep our students safe, however if they have any additional information they are certainly welcome to contact me and share it with me,” he said.

Wagnon was not in custody late Wednesday afternoon, but the sheriff’s office said her “arrest is imminent.”

No other details were released.
