Washington County Jailer Arrested for Assault of Inmate

A Washington County Sheriff's Office Jailer was fired from his job after he allegedly assaulted an inmate.

After a rigorous investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers, Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak said Christopher Kulow was arrested Friday, October 11, 2013 for assault.

According to reports, the inmate made the complaint Aug. 26 saying that Kulow assaulted him. Officials said the jailer was put on administrative leave while the investigation continued.

His bond was set at $4,000 and the investigation is ongoing. Stay with News 3 for the latest on this story.
