Wildfire Threatens Home In East Brazos County


The fire burning at FM 1179 and Morgan Road has consumed 10 - 20 acres. Firefighters appear to have the fire under control, but they continue to battle hot spots.

At this time, the mobile home in the path of the fire has been spared.

The cause of the fire is unknown.


A fast moving wildfire is burning out of control in eastern Brazos County.

Volunteer firefighters from Precinct 3 are on the scene of the fire burning at FM 1179 and Morgan Road that reportedly began burning Tuesday afternoon around four.

News 3 has a crew on location and has learned the fire is near a mobile home and that a storage building has been destroyed.

Crews battling the fire are requesting additional assistance from Precincts 1 and 2, as well as the Bryan and College Station Fire Departments.
