COLLEGE STATION A witness helped College Station police catch a Kileen man allegedly breaking into cars.
Officers were called to the Gateway Apartments off Holleman Drive early Friday morning. A witness told them they saw a man open the door of an unlocked car and take things from inside. That witness was able to give a detailed description of the suspect.
According to the arrest report, officers looked through the apartment complex and found 18-year-old Trevor Teinert. He matched the description given by the witness. Officers located property belonging to the victims on Teinart, as well as other items that appeared to be stolen.
While officers were investigating, they discovered that Teinert allegedly broke in to three cars at the apartment complex. The stolen property was returned to the victims.
The case is still under investigation because they believe that Teinert could be responsible for other burglaries in the area.
