Woman Critically Injured in Auto-Pedestrian Accident on A&M Campus

TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY - Police say a woman is in critical condition Monday after an accident on the A&M Campus in which when a driver fell asleep in an intersection, then hit a woman crossing the street.

Investigators say it happened about 6 a.m. at the intesection of University Drive and Spence Street when a driver asleep in the intersection somehow accelerated and knocked a pedestrian over.

UPD says that pedestrian was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, where she is listed in critical but stable condition. No word yet on if there are charges pending for the driver of that vehicle.
