Sheriff: Car Burglary Suspect Admits to Breaking into DPS Patrol Car

Updated: 07/05/2013 - A Brazos County man wanted for a string of vehicle burglaries across at least three different counties has been arrested. And that includes vehicles hit in the Nantucket subdivision in College Station. Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk says the accused thief even broke into a marked DPS patrol car in Montgomery County, stealing some electronics.

DPS Graduates 108 State Troopers in Austin

Posted: 07/03/2013 - AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw and Texas Public Safety Commission Chair Cynthia Leon today were joined by Sen. Leticia Van de Putte as the department commissioned 108 men and women as Highway Patrol troopers during the recruit graduation ceremony. Sen. Van de Putte was the keynote speaker during the ceremony, which was held at the LBJ Presidential Library.
