A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING has been issued for Milam and Robertson counties until 5:15pm. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Milam, Robertson, Leon Counties until 9pm Monday, for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery,San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties until 12am Tuesday, and for Lee county until 1am Tuesday. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING is in effect for Lee county until 6:15pm, and Milam and Robertson counties until 7:30pm. An additional widespread 1" to 3" rain accumulations are possible through the evening, with locally higher amounts possible.
UPDATE: An accident in Milam County claimed the life of a College Station woman Thursday morning.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials say, Kirsten Salerno was traveling west on FM 485 about 15 miles northwest from Cameron when an eastbound sedan veered into her path and struck her car on the driver's side.
The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. and Salerno was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Salerno, 28, is the wife of A&M Consolidated Head Soccer coach Stephano Salerno. News 3 has learned that Kirsten Salerno, a doctoral psychology student at Texas A&M University, was on her way to the Temple V.A. hospital to help with counseling.
DPS troopers say the male driver of the other vehicle was taken to Scott and White Hospital in Temple with unknown injures. The crash remains under investigation and so far, no charges have been filed.
An early morning accident on FM 485, near Cameron, kills one person.
Around 7:15 a.m. Thursday, a female was driving her 2007 Toyota sedan west on FM 485, when another Toyota sedan heading east crossed the center line and struck her car on the driver's side.
The male driver of the east bound car was taken to Scott & White in Temple with unknown injuries. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed yet.
