An attorney for the family of JonBenet Ramsey says there are a lot of people around the world who owe them an apology.
Lin Wood says he wishes Patsy Ramsey were alive today, to hear
prosecutors clear her and her family in the death of their
six year old daughter.
Citing new DNA tests, prosecutors cleared JonBenet's parents and
brother in the 1996 killing of the child beauty queen.
The D-A in Boulder, Colorado, says the tests point to an
"unexplained third party."
She released a copy of a letter she sent to the girl's father, John Ramsey, in which she said, "To the extent that we may have contributed in any way to the public perception that you might have been involved in this crime, I am deeply sorry."
Her predecessor as D-A had said in 1997 that the parents were under an "umbrella of suspicion."
John Ramsey found his daughter's body in the basement of the family home in December, 1996.
His wife, Patsy, died two years ago of ovarian cancer.
