The old Culpepper shopping center in College Station will be a little emptier with the closing of Bennigan's.

The 300 store chain filed for bankruptcy Tuesday morning.
The privately-owned Plano company had previously said it would not come to this.
Many employees were shocked when they showed up for work today.

Locations owned by franchisees were not part of the bankruptcy filing and will not be shut down.
There are about 160 domestic and international franchise locations and about 150 company-owned Bennigan's restaurants.
